Rustam Nigmatullin: Laishevo region makes a substantial contribution into social and economic development of the republic

On 21 February, speaking at a meeting of the Laishevo Municipality Council summarizing the social and economic development of the region in 2022 and setting tasks for 2023, Tatarstan First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin, who came to the region on a working visit, said that successful development of Tatarstan in the whole is feasible only with the wellbeing of all municipalities and that is why the administration of the republic attaches great attention to the situation on sites and implementation of tasks of prospective development of territories .

He said that favourable geographic location of the region, which is located close to Kazan, and the developed transport infrastructure make the region one of the most successfully developing and competitive in the republic.

Having briefly informed the participants of the meeting about the economic situation in the republic and implementation of national, federal and regional projects, Rustam Nigmatullin also told about his visits to the DoorHan, Tatcable and some other enterprises of the municipality earlier this morning  

Having stressed that the region is one of the leaders in housing construction and infrastructure development in the republic, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister  said that Laishevo region makes a substantial contribution into social and economic development of the republic. He said that according to evaluation carried out by the region, the Gross Territorial Product is expected to make about 45.5bn rubles in the current year, with the industrial production index of 99.6 per cent and enterprises of the region selling 59.5bn rubles of goods.

He also reminded that even though agribusiness plays a substantial role in the region’s economy, there are still problems with cattle breeding and milk production.

Rustam Nigmatullin concluded by saying that tourism helps a lot to business development and listed some events to be held in the region, such as the Russian National Holiday Karavov and Derzhavin readings, dedicated to 280th birthday of the great Russian poet and the outstanding state leader Gavriil Derzhavin, who was born in the region.
