On 14 February at their meeting in the Government house of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Board of the Russian Power System Operator Company Feodor Opadchiy discussed issues of the development of the energy system of the republic.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said the energy system operating in the republic is the largest in the Volga region and one of the largest in Russia. Large industrial enterprises of the republic, which showed sustainable growth in 2022, are the main energy consumers.
“Our republic is the industrial one and that is why the development of our own power industry is the priority for us. Our task is to provide the development of the energy system of the region and stable energy supply for consumers,” he said.
Having stressed that the Power System Operator Company is a long time strategic partner of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov concluded: “We are aimed at further fruitful cooperation”.
In his turn Feodor Opadchiy informed that due to efforts of the administration and power companies of the republic, Tatarstan energy system has a sustainable growth and has already become the fifth among all other regional systems in the absolute growth of energy consumption in 2022.
“With great pleasure we watch the development of the energy system and projects being implemented by Tatarstan,” he said.
“The energy system of the republic is among the leaders in implementation of digital solutions enabling the increase of its efficiency and reliability. Together with the administration and power companies of the republic we will continue developing the system to satisfy the energy demand of the regional economy”, he concluded.
