Tatarstan has allocated 2.8bn rubles for supporting small and private farming in 2022

On 4 February, speaking at a videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with all municipalities of the republic and with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov informed that by the results of 2022 the republic allocated 2.8bn rubles for supporting small and private farms which was by 352m more than in 2021. He said that due to great support from the government of the republic, it ranks second in agricultural gross product in the country.

He said that  the total  volume of agricultural production made 333.5bn rubles in 2022, 57.3 per cent of which is the share of agribusiness, 10.5% - small farms and 32.3% - that of private farms.

However there is some decrease in cattle breeding in small farms where the losses made 1 378 animals. As the same time such regions as Vysokaya Gora, Mendeleyevsk, Saby and Kukmor demonstrated stock growth mostly due to grants allocated from the government.

Giving examples when farmers successfully used grants for development of family farms, Marat Zyabbarov said that farmers received 4.4bn rubles of grants in total in 2012-2022.

Reporting about support granted to private farms, the Minister said that as of 1 January 2023 there is the stock growth by 511 animals, with mini dairy farms being most popular kind of agriculture and informed the participants of the meeting about the ranking of leaders in development of small farming in the republic.
