Aleksey Pesoshin takes part in the opening ceremony of the 3rd All-Russian Ice Hockey Tournament «The Cup of Friendship – Duslyk»

On February 3, in the Kazan Sports Palace «Sport Saray», Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the President of the Continental Hockey League Alexey Morozov and representatives of the clergy took part in the opening ceremony of the 3rd All-Russian Ice Hockey Tournament «The Cup of Friendship – Duslyk».

Pesoshin emphasized that the capital of multinational Tatarstan has repeatedly confirmed the high status of an important centre of sports life of Russia. Kazan regularly becomes a venue for all-Russian and international sports events

He noted that the centuries-old tradition of peaceful coexistence of peoples and religions finds a continuation in sports characterized by teamwork and result-oriented.

The tournament «The Cup of Friendship – Duslyk» has become a truly national hockey championship. For the third time it gathers amateur teams from different parts of our country. The peculiarity of the tournament is that the members of the participating teams represent our two leading religions - Orthodoxy and Islam. The basis and main value of the multinational world is friendship between peoples. The title of the tournament reflects it,” Pesoshin underlined. He said that the centuries-old traditions of peaceful coexistence of peoples and religions finds a continuation in sports characterized by teamwork and focus on results.

The tournament is organized in 2021. This year the competition brought together 250 athletes from 5 regions. A total of 10 teams will play in the tournament held on February 1-5.
