Tatarstan and Russian Railways sign an agreement on cooperation in rail transport for 2020-2022

On February 3, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, during a summing up meeting of Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Roads on the results of the work of the road industry in 2022, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of Gorky Railway, the branch of Russian Railways Sergey Dorofeevsky signed an agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and Russian Railways on interaction and cooperation in rail transport for 2023 – 2025 in such areas as passenger and freight transport, infrastructure development, ensuring road safety and infrastructure facilities, promotion and popularization of tourism in Tatarstan and others.

The document also envisages the implementation of joint environmental projects, the implementation of scientific and technical cooperation. In particular, the agreement is aimed at organizing ring railway lines in Kazan and intermodal passenger transport hub in the region.
