Rustam Minnikhanov at the launch of the third stage of the OZON logistics center: There is no doubt that the project is in great demand

On 27 January Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony of beginning the construction of the third stage of the OZON-Volga Company wholesale-distribution center , which is one of the key company hubs in the Volga region and is located in the Zelenodolsk Advanced Development Zone of the  republic.

Currently the OZON operates the first stage of its logistics hub with the area of 22 thousand square meters and more than 9.8m goods stored there. The company plans to start operation of the second stage of the complex with the area also 22 thousand square meters already in the second quarter of 2023 , and after completion of the third stage  in the beginning of 2024 the area of the fulfillment center will reach 84 thousand square meters, doubling the storage volume . The joint investments from the Romeks Group and the OZON into the third stage have exceeded 3.4bn roubles.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “The facility is very interesting and substantial and its cost is estimated to be 2.7bn rubles. We do not have any doubt that the project is in great demand. We have all statistics which confirms that OZON is working successfully in the republic and we completely support the project. So Godspeed you!”

The managing Director of OZON Sergey Belyakov said that Tatarstan is an example of hospitality and the company is getting a serious support from the administration of the republic “The growth rate which we have due to the support of regional administration is higher than that in Russia. By the result of nine months of 2022 the company nearly doubled its growth in the republic,” he said.

Having said that the OZON Company is one of the largest residents of the Zelenodolsk Industrial Park, the head of the region Mikhail Afanasyev confirmed that the region is ready to continue supporting their residents as “it is new work places”.
