Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting discussing results of the Digitalization Year: Large work is to be done including digitalization of services, the Safe City project and other tasks

On 25 January, speaking at a meeting of the Government of the republic dedicated to results of the Digitalization Year and digitalization tasks for 2023 held in the new IT-Park in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that one of the largest IT facilities was established in Kazan during the Digitalization Year, and that was the Bashir Rameyev IT-Park. “This shows that a lot of resources are allocated into this sphere and these resources and efforts were not wasted,” he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the administration and government of Russia for their decisions in supporting the IT-sphere and attracted attention to issues of developing IT branch at the municipal level. He said it was very important for municipalities to adapt experience in digitalization and moving services into e-format. “If we do not build the whole chain, the system will be inefficient”, he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that the development of the Innopolis project has federal importance and due to the federal support” we have a possibility to broaden the scope of our work, including the university of Innopolis, technical parks and private investors. The mechanism has started working and now it is important to support it”.

He told about his visit to the Kazan Federal University earlier the same day and its achievements in the IT sphere and said that universities should be involved into the import replacement processes.

“ Large work is to be done including digitalization of services, other tasks and the most important - the Safe City project,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and reminded that there is the Digitalization  Facilitation Association successfully working in the republic  and organizing the annual Kazan Digital Week summit.

In the end of the meeting Tatarstan President handed in state awards to employees of the IT, communications and digital development spheres.
