Rustam Minnikhanov meets the Khokim of the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan Ergash Saliev

On January 10, at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Khokim of the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan Ergash Saliev discussed the issues of developing trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the regions.

Minnikhanov emphasized the high level of interaction with Uzbek partners. Trade volumes are growing, a number of joint projects are being implemented. For example, a branch of the Kazan Federal University was opened in the city of Jizzakh last year. Tatarstan also actively cooperates with the Jizzakh region in information technology development.

“We highly appreciate the opportunity to develop cooperation with Uzbekistan under the friendly Russian-Uzbek relations. Special merit in this of the Presidents of our states,” Tatarstan President underlined.

Saliev also expressed interest in further comprehensive development of cooperation with Tatarstan. During his visit to the republic, the Khokim of the Jizzakh region visited Innopolis, Bashir Rameev IT Park, Khimgrad Technopolis and Kazan Federal University.
