Rustam Minnikhanov meets the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarvan

On 28 December, speaking at his meeting with the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarvan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “You are the head of the authoritative international organization which works for reaching important global targets of peace and tolerance”. 

Tatarstan President told his guest how the republic celebrated the 1100th anniversary of adopting of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria at the federal level in Russia, attracting special attention to the fact that due to efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin, representatives of all religions in Russia are treated with deep respect. 

“Tatarstan is a bright example of this as Muslims and Christians have been living in peace and concord in the republic for many centuries” he said. 

Rustam Minnikhanov also stressed that on the errand from Russian President Vladimir Putin he presides the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. 

“I am sure we have good prospects for cooperation of the Group and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The mission you are pursuing is very close to us as it means preservation of cultural- civilizations diversity and development of tolerance traditions”.
