Rustam Minnikhanov meets representatives of the rector's corps and heads of scientific organizations of Tatarstan

On December 26, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leila Fazleeva, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office Asgat Safarov and other officials had a meeting with representatives of the rector's corps and heads of scientific organizations of the republic.

Minnikhanov emphasized that it has become a good tradition in the republic to meet with representatives of science before the new year and sum up the results of 2022 and set new tasks. He stressed that despite the difficulties, the scientific and educational complex of Tatarstan worked well in the past year. Universities and research institutions were able not only to maintain, but also to increase their presence in the national project "Science and Universities", in other strategic initiatives for the socio-economic development of the country.

Our system of science and education allows Tatarstan to remain one of the important scientific, educational and industrial centers of the country, Minnikhanov said. He also said that Tatarstan ranks 5th in the national ranking of scientific and technological development of regions.

Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Tatarstan Universities, Rector of the Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin spoke about the results of the development of the higher education system of Tatarstan and the priorities for its modernization.

Director of «Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences» Aleksey Kalachev reported on the results of the center’s work and priority development projects.

Minnikhanov said that there are only four regional academies of sciences in the country - in Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chechnya and Yakutia. The Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan enjoys well-deserved authority and makes a significant contribution to the preservation of the unique identity and cultural code, as well as the rich historical heritage of the multi-ethnic people of the republic, Tatarstan President emphasized.
