Rustam Minnikhanov meets participants of the regional Christmas tree holiday

On 25 December Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a traditional meeting with participants of the Christmas tree holiday. Children and young people, who were winners of various championships and international competitions and young representatives of public organizations, told the President of the republic about their achievements and hobbies.

Every year more than 8 500 children take part in this holiday and in the current year kids and youngsters, who are successful in studies, sports, creative and public life, as well as children from the families of the mobilized were invited to the holiday.

Prior to the beginning of the fest, Rustam Minnikhanov also welcomed delegates of the I congress of All-Russia movement of children and youth, having said that every year the regional Christmas tree holiday gathers thousands of the most active, successful and talented young people from all over Tatarstan. 

“Due to your achievements this year Kazan was given the status of the “OIC Youth Capital” and the republic again won All-Russia competitions “The region of Good Deeds” and “Russian Student’s Spring” he said. 

He stressed that the next year has been declared as the Year of National Cultures and Traditions in the republic. “Each of you can make your contribution into development of national traditions and preservation of the rich historical heritage, culture and language. Your strength is in capability to think free and propose original solutions. In all this you are helped by school, sports and creative circles, children’s and teenagers’ clubs and youth amalgamations”, Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

Congratulating participants of the fest with the coming New Year, Tatarstan President said: “ I wish you to find your own selves, your place in life. Your parents, teachers, mentors and the whole Tatarstan are with you. We will always be near you, will help you and admire your successes. We will work for you and together with you for Russia. Happy New Year!”
