On December 19, near the Pyramid complex in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, Lieutenant-General Aleksander Kurenkov and representatives of the ministry in the republic took part in a solemn ceremony of handing in the keys to special vehicles to the fire and rescue garrison units of Tatarstan.
The ceremony of handing in is timed to the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the annual All-Russian festival in security and saving people “Constellation of Courage”.
Tatarstan President said that such events have already become a tradition and emphasized that the safety of people depends on the efficiency, effectiveness and coherence of the the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and expressed confidence that the equipment handed over, will greatly facilitate the hard work of representatives of fire and rescue services.
Kurenkov together with Minnikhanov handed over more than 20 units of new equipment to the fire and rescue garrison, including 10 new special vehicles for the needs of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and 14 mobile fire-fighting stations for voluntary fire brigades established this year in rural settlements.
