RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov approved the development modernization plan of international airport “Kazan”

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov approved the development modernization plan of international airport “Kazan” presented by the management of “Himimport” holding (Bulgaria). Reconstruction and construction of new objects will help airport “Kazan” to achieve modern international standards, improve the service of passengers and provide stable growth of passengers flow.

The plan will be realized in 2 stages. At the first stage the international airport “Kazan” will service 2 million passengers per year (till the end of 2010), at the second stage – 5 million people (till March, 2013).

Modernization implies the construction of 3 terminal, reconstruction of existing buildings, construction of 2-level underground parking-garage, new landing strip and adjoining taxi ways (3400 m long, 60 m wide).

“Himimport” holding is willing to invest money in development of “Tatarstan” airways. It’s planned to equip the airpark with new import airplanes, development of air technical complex, training of service and technical staff.
