On 12 December during his visit of the TOGG Car Plant in Bursa, which was established in 2018 for implementation of a national project of building the first domestic electric car, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was told that the plant is planning to produce cars with two different motor ratings, bringing up the production to 5 models in the future.
The preorder is planned to start in February 2023 and its implementation in the following March. The plant which is 90 per cent automated plans to produce more than 175 000 cars a year.
“It is a great honor for us to have you here with us today”, the plant administration said to Rustam Minnikhanov who in his turn replied: “We congratulate you with such project. In June last year you made its presentation to us and already today we can see the production itself. I am sure the project will be very successful”.
Tatarstan President was also told about the project in detail and shown the welding and assembly shops. In the end of the excursion, a test drive of an electric car took place.
