RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov: “Intermunicipal centers of high medical technologies are being created in Tatarstan”

XV International Congress of surgeons-hepatologists from CIS countries was opened in Kazan. It is devoted to urgent problems of hepatology surgery. Specialists from 80 Russian regions and 11 countries take part in the Congress.

Head of RT Cabinet said that holding of such great forum means recognition of Kazan medical school authority and things that are being done regarding the introduction of new technologies in health care. He also reminded that Kazan is well-known for its surgery school and fundamental achievements in medical science. In the beginning of XIX century it was the first place to use general anesthesia and do complex operations.

Prime Minister also announced that people are proud of that fact that Alexander Vishnevsky, a legendary surgeon, surgeons of Dormachev family, Nikolay Medvedev, one of cardiosurgery founders worked in Kazan.

Within “Health” national project 7 main republic hospitals were modernized in Kazan. Diagnostic equipment for the sum of 3 billion RUR were purchased. Intermunicipal centers of high medical technologies are being created in Kazan, Almetevsk and Naberezhnye Chelny.

Moreover, training center of high medical technologies was opened in Tatarstan.

Congress organizators were Ministry of Health Care and Social Development of Russia, Ministry of Health Care of Tatarstan, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Association of surgeons-hepatologists of Russia and CIS.
