On 29 November, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came to Baku as a head of a delegation from the republic, had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Hidayat oglu Asadov.
“Highly esteemed President, we are very pleased with your visit as it takes place in an important month – the month of fruitful cooperation of Azerbaijan and Russia”, the Prime Minister said.
He reminded that several days ago Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin visited Azerbaijan and discussed inter-regional cooperation at his meetings. “We know that Tatarstan in one of the leading republics of Russia and you are particularly respected in Azerbaijan. I am sure your visit will be fruitful”, he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and said: “I am extremely happy for having the possibility to visit our brotherly country which is close to us spiritually, in language and culture. Warm relations between our two republics became possible due to personal friendship of your President Heydar Aliyev and our First President Mintimer Shaimiev”.
Tatarstan President told that these days a large group of Tatarstan producers, namely heads of 45 companies, are working in Baku and stated the importance of the reciprocal visit of a business delegation from Azerbaijan to Tatarstan.
He informed that according to the results of last year the Tatarstan- Azerbaijan trade turnover exceeded 70m dollars and in the first six months of 2022 it more than doubled, making 60m.
