On 25 November the Deputy Head of the Russian Government Dmitriy Chernyshenko and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnihanov visited the city of Innopolis and inspected the construction site of three students’ dorms of the Innopolis University as well as the functioning of domestic Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology used for buildings operation.
“The decision to build students dorms within the national project of Science and Universities was taken together with the university supervisory board two years ago. I would like to pay special attention to the domestic BIM system being developed by the Russian Ministry of Construction within the construction and utilities sector industrial competences center and which was launched here in Innopolis on the basis of the Russian software. It enables efficient control of all engineering infrastructure of the building, including heat and electricity supply and internet. It is also important that the BIM system is among 216 projects approved for industrial competences centers and it will be put into action all over Russia”, - Dmitriy Chernyshenko said during the visit.
He gave an errand to Tatarstan Ministry of Science and Education and Ministry of Digitalization to prepare proposals on using domestic BIM-technologies for operation of world level campuses within the national project of Science and Universities.
The federal budget has already allocated 2.5bn roubles on construction of the dorms at Innopolis and it is planned that the first students will be able to live in them already in the next year, he concluded.
In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today the task of providing technological sovereignty of our country is a priority. This is true for all spheres including construction. Looking at this dorm we can see how our domestic BIM systems are used. We should continue using Russian developments and platforms “.
The operation of the building with the use of domestic BIM system will make it possible to submit claims on tubes leakage, a broken lock or a switch and follow the fixing process online.
