On July 23 at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board Chairman and Managing Director of IPG Photonics, Director General of STA “IRE-Polus” Valentin Gapontsev discussed further cooperation within the framework of joint projects.

The Scientific-Technical Association “IRE-Polus” is a part of IPG Photonics group, the global leader in the sphere of development and production of unique fiber lasers and amplifiers, optical components, units, devices and systems for fiber, atmospheric and satellite optical communication, cable television, optical location, remote control of industrial objects and atmosphere, etc.

In December 2012 Valentin Gapontsev and Rustam Minnikhanov discussed establishment of production and engineering centre of state-of-the-art laser technologies in Tatarstan. The centre will be engaged in adoption of solutions for certain customers and maintenance of supplied high technology equipment.
