On November 14, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with participation of Aide to the President of the republic Olesya Baltusova, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva, Rector of the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering Rashit Nizamov and other officials on the preservation and development of the historical centre of the city of Chistopol.
Head of the executive committee of the Chistopol municipal region Eduard Khasanov made a report on the execution of instructions of Tatarstan President received during 2022.
In May of the current year, Minnikhanov visited the historical centre of Chistopol and got acquainted with the cultural heritage sites that are supposed to be reconstructed. The pressing tasks for the sale of facilities from the auction were identified. A number of other facilities are planned to be fully restored under the state programmes.
Khasanov reported on the work carried out with cultural heritage sites. Some facilities aroused the interest of investors. . Others are in the tender process.
Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on the protection of cultural heritage sitesIvan Gushchyn reported on the preservation of cultural heritage facilities in Chistopol through the Committee. He, in particular, reported that an archaeological survey of the historical part of Chistopol was organized to determine the exact boundaries of the cultural layer. Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Marat Ayzatullin reported on the modernization of existing engineering networks in connection with works in the historical part of the city.
The participants of the meeting also discussed issues and the scheme for the construction of a passenger pier in Chistopol. Tatarstan Minister of Construction said that all the necessary documentation, as well as expertise, are ready. Commenting on this issue, Tatarstan President said that in order to increase the tourist attractiveness of Chistopol, the growth of the tourist flow, work on the construction of the pier is necessary.
Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov reported on the tourism potential and steps to increase it. In particular, he proposed to create a grant programme to increase tourist growth points through new tourist infrastructure facilities. According to Ivanov, today it is important to involve water infrastructure in tourist routes. Minnikhanov proposed to actively involve business structures to increase tourist services in the city, creating conditions for the growth of tourist flow. He said that the tourist attractiveness of Chistopol is not inferior to Yelabuga. Minnikhanov also suggested using the possibilities of glamping programmes - the natural landscape gives good opportunities for that.
