On 9 November, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chief Scientific Officer of the Federal Coal and Coal Chemistry Research Center of the Siberia Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences Zinfer Ismagilov discussed issues of cooperation in chemistry and petrochemicals, development of industrial ecology and interaction in the sphere of science and education.
Professor Zinfer Ismagilov, who published about 1 300 scientific works and owns more than 170 patents and inventor's certificates, carries out research in heterogenous catalysis, oil- and coal chemistry, chemistry of carbon materials, functional nanomaterials and industrial ecology.

The Federal Coal and Coal Chemistry Research Center of the Siberia Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences was established in 2015. Its main tasks are scientific provision and support of further development of coal and coal chemistry branches of Russian industry along the whole production chain starting from coal mining and advanced processing to rehabilitation of disturbed land and development of ecologically comfortable environment in coal mining regions. In addition the Center is working in developing world level domestic technologies for coal and coal chemistry branches.
