Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening ceremony of the 4th World Nomadic Games in the Turkish city of Iznik

On September 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Turkey to take part in the World Nomadic Games opening ceremony together with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov.

The World Nomadic Games is the largest international project uniting Turkic-speaking countries and aimed at reviving and preserving their culture.

The 4th World Nomad Games are held from September 29 to October 2, 2022 in the city of Iznik, 125 kilometers far from Istanbul. As many as 15 athletes from Tatarstan also take part in the competition in the discipline - koresh (belt wrestling). Minnikhanov thanked the President of the Republic of Turkey for the invitation and emphasized that Russia's rapprochement with the Islamic world is built, inter alia, on the cultural and civilizational basis.
