Grain harvest campaign almost completed in Tatarstan, sugar beet harvesting continues

On September 24, speaking at a regional video-conference in the Government House of the republic held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic, regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov said that grain harvest campaign is almost completed in Tatarstan, sugar beet harvesting continues.

Zyabbarov also said that corn is still to be harvested. Its area is 46.3 thousand hectares. it is planned to harvest about 100,000 tonnes of corn.

The sugar beet is being harvested in the fields of the republic. As many as 17,6 thousand of 50 thousand hectares planned have been excavated, which makes 50 per cent of the plan, 593,000 tonnes of sugar beet with a yield of 337 centners per hectare have been harvested.

Potato harvesting is in the active phase, 1740 hectares, which makes 38 per cent of the plan, have been harvested.

The Minister also said that the work on the preparation of equipment for the field work in 2023 has started. Next week, from 27 to 29 September, workshop-meetings with the involvement of major dealers and suppliers of spare parts will be held in 4 zones.
