Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov gives a start to renovation of the Kazan River Port

On 22 September, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Vice-President of the Volga-Vyatka Branch of the Sberbank Petr Koltypin took part in a ceremony of laying the first stone on the renovation site of Kazan River Port.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “There were several efforts and different projects to approach this site. If you look at Kazan, you will see there is no access to the Volga. There was everything but people could not leave and enjoy all this beauty. So I liked the systemic and unique approach to solution of this task”.

He stressed that it is necessary to develop comfortable environment for living in the city. “It will be a different level of comfort, it is a new page of architectural solutions for our capital. It is a high standard and I would like all investors to take into consideration – it should become an example for our city. You will see – it will be very comfortable and prestigious to be and live in this district”, Tatarstan President said.

The development will be carried out in two stages with 337 thousand square meters of accommodation, a school and eight kindergartens and a promenade built during the first stage and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is the author of renovation idea.
