Rustam Minnikhanov and Roman Golovchenko open the Tatarstan-Belarus business forum

On 22 September Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime-Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko opened the Tatarstan-Belarus business forum held in the regional Chamber of Commerce in Kazan.

Addressing dozens of representatives of Belarus and Tatarstan business communities, who took part in the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Belarus is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan and among the leaders in trade turnover which amounts to about 1bn US dollars. In addition the working agreements and regular exchange of delegations and work of the joint working group facilitate strengthening of Tatarstan-Belarus relations”.

“Despite the achieved results of joint work, our cooperation still can develop further as there is a significant potential for this. It has become especially important in current complicated situation under sanctions”, he said.

 Tatarstan President continued: “There is a big potential for expanding our interaction in the spheres of trade, economy, innovations and investments. In complicated international situation we should ramp up cooperation of our enterprises and involve SMEs more actively. We hope that economic possibilities of our republic will be interesting for Belarus enterprises”. He concluded by wishing fruitful and successful joint work to participants of the forum.
