Tatarstan President meets business circles of the East Azerbaijan province of Iran

On 18 September, speaking at his round table meeting with business circles of the East Azerbaijan province of Iran in Tabriz, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “The aim of our visit is to expand economic cooperation and set up new contacts. Our delegation consists of heads of ministries and departments and large enterprises”.

Earlier in June this year at their online meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and the Governor of the East Azerbaijan Province discussed prospects in cooperation, the result of which was visit of a big delegation from the Tatarstan Ministry of Trade and Industry that came to get acquainted with the industrial potential of the Province.

In his speech the Governor of the province Zein-Al Abedin Razavi Khoram stated that this official visit of the President of the republic and Tatarstan delegation will make it possible to elaborate profoundly cooperation issues. “Our regions play an important role for economies of our countries. Today under the current political situation it is especially important to develop relations with our neighbors. This task is put forward by our President”, he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov also told about work of the Strategic Vision Group Russia-Islamic World which he is the head of by an errand from Russian President Vladimir Putin and called to be more active in interacting Iranian partners within this format.

He also informed that this year Tatarstan celebrated 1100 anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria and draw attention to the fact that by a decision of Vladimir Putin the celebrations were held on a federal level, which resulted in gratitude of all 20 million Muslims living in Russia. 

At the meeting the delegation also made a presentation of economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan.
