Welcoming participants of the festival, Tatarstan President congratulated them with the fest and reminded that the republic is hosting a guest from the Republic of Sakha Aysen Nikolayev. “We know that Yakutia is one of the horse breeding centers. We visited this region recently and understood that we are lagging behind them but we already have our breed of the horse and are celebrating the “Horse Day” today. Our ancestors could hardly imagine their life without horses and we attach big attention to horse breeding today”.
In his turn, on behalf of all residents of Yakutia Aysen Nikolayev congratulated everyone with the Horse Day and said: “For us as the most northern Turkic people in the world the horse is a sacred animal. We love horses and breed them. And for us the horse is much more than just a friend. It is a kind of god. Due to them we can travel great distances. And this year our young guys made horse crossing from Oymyakon, which is in the far north of Yakutia to Moscow. They were riding a year and four months having ridden 11 000 kilometers including crossing Tatarstan. Thank you very much for a warm welcome they were given here. I am sure such horse crossings will facilitate revival of traditions which our people need so much. And I wish success to participants of today’s competitions”.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, who is the Chairman of the Milli Shura National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziyev and the Head of Arsk municipality Ilshat Nuriev also took part in the events.
