On 15 September on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Gas Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors Vitaliy Markelov took part (by videoconference) in launching three gas-engine infrastructure facilities in Tatarstan.
Thus a Sadilovo complex of production, storage and shipping LNG in Vysokaya Gora region of the republic was launched from the Gazprom LNG Technologies Company stand. The complex consists of a technological line with the capacity of 1 500 tonnes of LNG an hour which will be produced by liquefaction by external nitrogen chilling. Produced LNG will be stored in cryogenic tanks in the premises of the facility and then shipped to filling stations of Tatarstan, Leningrad region and St Petersburg.
“When there is a plant, there will be customers. We are working actively both in the sphere of pressurized and liquefied gas. We have big plans for the future. I would like to express my gratitude to the Gazprom administration for supporting our projects. The advantages of gas fuel are its efficiency and ecological impact. Today it is not just commercial vehicles, but also railway engines, agricultural machinery and ships. Transition to LNG will substantially improve ecological situation in our cities”, Minnikhanov said.
Operation of another LNG plant in Tyulyachi region of Tatarstan was launched from the RariTEK Holding stand.
In addition a Cryo filling station, working on LNG and hydrogen was opened in Naberezhnyye Chelny. Addressing participants of the ceremony, the Mayor of the city Nail Magdeyev said: “We thank the Gazprom administration, the administration of Tatarstan and the RariTEK Holding for building and launching a modern filling station. It is quite different quality of life, ecology and economy for a city with the population of a half-million”.
In his turn Vitaliy Markelov said that such projects will facilitate using gas fuel by transport.
