Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in launching the driving of the next stretch of the second line of Kazan Underground

On 14 September Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, regional Ministers and representatives of the Kazmetrostroy Metro Construction Company took part in launching the driving of the next stretch of the second line of Kazan Underground.

Director General of the Kazmetrostroy Marat Rakhimov told Minnikhanov that work is going on at the Lomzhinskaya Station (the new name of which is “Zilant”), adding that the total length of the first stretch of the second line is 5 kilometers 750 meters

He also informed Tatarstan President about prospects of the development of the Kazan Metro, giving various options considered by the designers.  “All this requires time, calculations and economic feasibility”, Rakhimov explained.

The first stretch of the second line of the Kazan Metro, consisting of four stations, is to be completed in August 2027.
