On 13 September at their meeting in the Government house of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group of Companies DELO (Business) Sergey Shishkarev discussed issues of potential interaction and steps in developing interregional transport and logistics chains.
The parties paid special attention to organization of container shipping, containerization of the cargo base and investments in the largest economic clusters of Tatarstan as one of the most industrially developed regions of the country.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the DELO Group of Companies is the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia. “Under new conditions it is necessary to look for new ways of interaction and it is important to set up new logistics chains. Taking into consideration our geographical location and amounts of industrial output, issues of logistics are becoming a priority for us,” he said.
The DELO Group proposed to implement a number of projects in the republic, raising efficiency of enterprises logistics by organizing regular container trains. The parties also discussed prospects of development of Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center and the Special Economic Zone of Alabuga.
As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to prepare a draft comprehensive agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the DELO Group of Companies in increasing the amount of containerization of the cargo base and organizing container transportation. In addition they agreed to establish a joint working group to consider practicality and prospects of investments activity in SEZ Alabuga and development on multi-modal container transportation in the region.
“Cooperation with Tatarstan will make it possible to join our efforts for implementation of business initiatives and social programmes. Possessing all necessary assets and competences, the DELO Group is ready to offer the region optimal solution and technologies which will make it possible to realize its industrial and transport and logistics potential in full”, Sergey Shishkarev said and concluded that according to estimates of the Group experts, transitions to container shipping will optimize Tatarstan enterprises logistics by 15-25 per cent and will reduce the delivery time for more than twice.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister-the Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, regional Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko, regional Minister of Transport and Roads Farit Khanifov, President of the TransContainer Company Aleksandr Isurin, the Vice-President of the DELO Group Denis Bogomolov and the First Vice-President of the TransContainer Company Viktor Markov also took part in the meeting.
