Tatarstan President and Head of Russian EMERCOM get acquainted with the production of Tu-214 aircraft

On September 12, Tatarstan President, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tupolev Company Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) Alexander Kurenkov visited the Kazan Aircraft Plant named after Gorbunov – branch of Tupolev Company.

They looked around the flight-test station, got acquainted with the production progress of the Tu-214 and discussed issues of further cooperation. Representatives of the plant informed about the possibilities of modifying the Tu-214 aircraft for the purposes of the rescue department. It is planned that the aircraft will be adapted also for medical evacuation with up to five specially equipped medical modules.

The Tu-214 is a modern, efficient, narrow-bodied and twin-engine aircraft with high fuel economy and comfort.

CEO of Tupolev Company Vadim Korolev and Director of the Kazan Aircraft Plant named after Gorbunov Nikolay Savitskikh accompanied the guests.
