One of the largest polycarbonate plates production plants in Russia was opened in the vicinity of Kazan

Today ceremonial opening of the largest polycarbonate plates production plants in Russia “SafPlast Innovative” took place in Tatarstan. RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov took part in opening ceremony of new manufacture. “SafPlast Innovative” plant is located in the vicinity of Kazan, its total area is 1,4958 hectares.

Designed capacity of the plant is 14 000 tones of production per year. General Director Denis Makarov told to journalists that it’s planned to reach the set rates in 2009 (after starting of 3d monolithic polycarbonate production line).

Omipa Company (Italy) is the supplier of equipment for 3 extrusion lines.

For the present moment “SafPlast Innovative” plant plans to issue 10 000 tones of production per year. In accordance with specialists’ assessments it makes 50 % of this market in Russia.

Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing of Tatarstan, General Director of State Unitary Enterprise “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Irek Faizullin noted that the plant has been built for less than 1 year. He considers that this kind of production is in demand today in building sphere on the territory of Tatarstan and in Russia.

Rustam Minnikhanov informed that for the time being “SafPlast Innovative” plant uses import raw material because polycarbonate is new material for Russia. But gradually we’ll replace it by domestic raw material produced at “Kazanorgsintez” Jsc. This area is very perspective. Head of RT Government reminded that “Kazanorgsintez” Jsc has started the production of polycarbonate but it’s necessary to have definite characteristics of raw material to use it at “SafPlast Innovative”.

“SafPlast Innovative” plant is in the group of “Ak Bars” bank enterprises. According to Chairman of “Ak Bars” bank Management, the project investments made 800 million RUR. These means are planned to be compensated within 5 years.
