Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan

On August 28, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan, who arrived on a working visit in Tatarstan to take part in the Kazan Global Youth Summit under the events of the Kazan OIC Youth Capital.

Minnikhanov asked to convey his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support in the development of Tatarstan-Turkish cooperation.

“His personal involvement makes our relations stronger,” Tatarstan President said, noting the important role of the Turkish Consulate, which contributes to the development of economic relations.

“The Kazan Global Youth Summit is a great event for our republic. The event’s programme is very fruitful: various sessions, discussions, round tables are held. Your arrival in Kazan and participation in the summit is of great interest to its participants and guests”, Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President emphasized that being the President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Bilal Erdoğan does a lot for the development of cultural and sports ties between different peoples, including among the Turkic-speaking states. Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude for the inclusion of the International Koresh Federation in the confederation.

In his turn, Erdogan conveyed warm greetings to Minnikhanov from his father, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“I thank you for the invitation, it was a pleasure for us to know that Kazan has been proclaimed the youth capital of the OIC”, the guest said. « We are fraternal peoples with the Tatars. I can assure you that we will always support you», Erdogan said.

He also congratulated Minnikhanov on being awarded a Foreign Ministry award badge “For contribution into the international cooperation”.

“You are doing a lot to strengthen cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world,” Erdogan added.
