Rustam Minnikhanov and Valeriy Falkov have visited the KAMAZ

On 26 August Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Falkov, who came on a working trip to Tatarstan, visited production facilities of the KAMAZ Automaker in Naberezhnyye Chelny and got acquainted with operation of the motor plant and the Cab in White plant.

The motor plant is the largest plant of KAMAZ, which manufactures trucks since 1976, employing more than 5 thousand people. Minnikhanov and Falkov walked along the main assembly line and were shown the CAM-system which makes it possible to monitor the assembly in real time mode. 

At the Cab in White plant the Minister was shown the logistics unit, the welding shop and a measuring laboratory. 

After Falkov was shown new developments of the KAMAZ, such as electricity driven trucks and buses as well as hydrogen fuel cells devices, he gave high assessment to the production organization. “When you are sitting in the truck, you can feel the long way the company passed in the long years. The task of the Ministry, universities and scientific institutes is to lend their shoulder and provide such a level of cooperation that one of the leading car-building corporations of Russia keeps developing implementing the most advanced ideas and developments. This is also related to establishment of an advanced engineering school. We have come here today to see how the production is organized and discuss tasks of the advanced engineering school in the branch of the Federal University in Naberezhnyye Chelny”, the Minister said.
