Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Falkov about Kazan Federal University: University is a special issue, it has to hold the bar high

On 26 August Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Falkov, who came on a working trip to Tatarstan, took part in an expanded meeting of the Kazan Federal University Scientific Council, visited the Museum of the University History and left an .entry in the University book of Guests of Honor.

Speaking at the meeting, Falkov stressed that today the university respects its traditions at the same time continuously and surely going ahead due to the support from the federal center. He also noted that the university successfully participates in nearly all federal programmes

“You have to hold the bar high. In the last few years you  have brightly made yourself known Despite the difficult foreign situation the university is thinking about itself as a world class university and behaves itself as one”, Falkov said, addressing the participants of the meeting.

The Russian Minister also reminded that the university is successfully developing its foreign market strategy. “You have the largest number of foreign students and you are opening branches abroad and in the CIS countries as it is important not only for the university but also for Tatarstan and the country”, he said.

According to Falkov, Kazan University knows Lenar Safin very well as he graduated from it in 1993 and then lectured here. “He has such useful qualities as quick understanding of the situation and ability to rapidly swing into action. As a person who worked both at the regional and federal levels, Safin understands how everything works and has interacted with the education industry for long time”, - the Russian Minister concluded

In his speech Lenar Safin said that it is a great honor and responsibility to become the head of one of the oldest universities of Russia and promised to work honestly and conscientiously.
