A new rector of the Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin has been introduced at an expanded meeting of the University Scientific Council

Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Kazan Federal University Scientific Council held with participation of Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Falkov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is the chairman of the University Supervisory Committee, said that the university trains more than 48 thousand students, 11 thousand of them coming from outside the Russian Federation. A new rector of the University Lenar Safin was introduced to the participants of the meeting and Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Russian Government for supporting Safin’s candidacy.

Speaking about university, Tatarstan President reminded that for more than 200 years the Kazan University has always been on the forefront of development of science and higher education in our country and said that an issue of a new rector of such university had a decisive character for the future of the whole scientific and educational complex of the republic.

“Lenar Rinatovich comes from the university community as he started his career here as a teacher at the Law department. Later, occupying various state positions, including that in the Federation Council, he has not lost his close contacts with his alma mater”, -Minnikhanov said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the university team for its achievements and said he was sure Lenar Safin possesses all necessary knowledge, experience and skills to deal with the set tasks and justify the confidence reposed.
