Tatarstan President: The Community Forum is a reputable platform for a dialogue between the society, business and the power

On 24 August, speaking at a plenary session of the Community Forum held on 24 and 25 August at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Community Forum is a reputable platform for a dialogue between the society, business and the power and the place to look for ideas and develop important solutions. 

Also participating in the forum were the Secretary of the Russian Public Chamber Lidia Likheyeva, the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy Head of the Russian President’s office in public projects Aleksandr Zhuravskiy, the chairwoman of the Tatarstan Public Chamber Zilya Valeyeva and many others.  

In his welcoming speech Rustam Minnikhanov underlined that it is impossible to imagine any sphere of life without active participation of the community in an open and strong state. “I am sure the informative programme of the forum will give broad possibilities for demonstration of the best Russian practices and for sharing opinions”, -he said. 

Attracting attention to the huge experience of the republic in developing a dialogue of cultures and supporting traditional confessions, Minnikhanov reminded that today there are representatives of 173 ethnicities and all traditional confessions living in Tatarstan in peace and concord. “Solidarity and integrity of citizens is a foundation of public-political and social-economic development, our going ahead. Strengthening of inter-ethnic and inter-religious peace and civil concord has always been and still remains a subject of our special concern”, Tatarstan President stated. 

He marked close interaction with civil society institutions such as the Assembly of People of Tatarstan, the World Congress of Tatars, Russian National and Cultural Union, The Tatarstan Muslims Religious Board, Tatarstan Metropolitan of Russian Orthodox Church and others.

Minnikhanov informed that in the nearest future Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuykov will take part in a ceremony of opening the Center for fostering development of civic initiatives.

Starting from 2015 Tatarstan gives awards to non-commercial organizations and active people for contribution into the development of civic society institutions and Minnikhanov said he thinks that continuous material and financial support becomes a substantial help for implementation of socially important projects. 

Minnikhanov concluded by saying that issues of preservation of peace and concord, supporting the projects aimed at improvement life quality of people must be in the center of general attention under current challenges and pressure exerted on Russia and wished the participant of the Forum fruitful work.
