Tatarstan President meets Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus

On August 19, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Markevich.

Minnikhanov emphasized that Belarus is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. Cooperation in culture is also actively developing. Mutual visits of creative teams are organized, exhibitions and various cultural events are held. Special attention is paid to the preservation of the memory of feats of the heroes in the World War II.

During his working visit to Tatarstan, Markevich is scheduled to open an exhibition of Belarusian artists and rushniks (towels), attend a gala concert of masters of art of Belarus and participate in the opening of a memorial plaque to the classic of Belarusian culture, folk poet Yanka Kupala.
