As many as 425 thousand hectares have been threshed in Tatarstan with the yield of 1.6m tonnes

On 13 August at a meeting held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin at the Government House of the republic, regional Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Nail Zalakov reported that all regions of the republic have started harvest campaign, having threshed 425 thousand hectares which makes 28 per cent of the planned. The grain yield made 1.6m tonnes with the average yield of 39 centners per hectare, he said.

Zalakov also said that the best period for winter sowing is from 15 august to 5 September of the current year and Arsk and Tukay regions have already held workshops on soil preparation for the sowing.

The republic also continues hay and forage conservation campaign and according to the monitoring information 625 thousand tonnes of hay and 3m tonnes of haylage have already been conserved by 13 August, the Deputy Minister said. 

Zalakov reminded that from 1 September all produced grain should be registered in the compulsory Federal State Information System on Grain and its products (“The Grain System) and added that Russian Ministry of Agriculture is planning to allocate state support for grain sales if information about its sales has been set down in the system.
