Kazakhstan Consulate-General opened in Kazan

On July 5 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in opening ceremony of Kazakhstan Consulate-General in Kazan on Karl Marx street, 8/13.
The ceremony was attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan Republic to Russia Galym Orazbakov, Kazakhstan Consul General to Kazan Askhat Nuskabai, Representative of Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kazan Radik Vakhitov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.
The ceremony started with raising the flag and singing the national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Galym Orazbakov pointed out rapidly developing relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. Speaking about mutually beneficial cooperation with Tatarstan, Galym Orazbakov noted regular exchange of delegations and experience in different areas.
In particular, Galym Orazbakov mentioned that Kazan had greatly changed and thanked Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin for constructing the building for the Kazakhstan Consulate in the very center of Kazan.
He said the Kazakhstan trade representative office and Air Astana office would be situated there. Galym Orazbakov introduced Kazakhstan Consul General to Kazan Askhat Nuskaba.
Welcoming participants of the ceremony, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that Kazakhstan and Tatarstan culture and languages have much in common. “We have worked in common free market zone since 2012 and should focus our efforts on bringing our countries and economics together,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov also congratulated Kazakhstan colleagues on a large holiday – the birthday of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbaev and Day of Astana capital city, which will be celebrated tomorrow, on July 6.
Rustam Minnikhanov also wished Kazakhstan athletes success at Summer Universiade which will be opened tomorrow.
Besides, Tatarstan President added that Kazakhstan would host Winter Universiade in 2017. “I think we will be cooperating on this issue,” Tatarstan President continued. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan could share its experience in preparation and holding of such large students competitions.
Later on, honoured guests cut a symbolic ribbon by the entrance of the Kazakhstan Consulate General in Kazan.

Kazakhstan Consulate-General in Kazan is situated on Karl Marx street, 8/13 (Remizova’s House).
According to Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Decree, the building is a historical and cultural monument of a regional importance.
Remizova’s House was built in the first half of the 19th century by the architect F. Petondi.
In 1904 the building belonged to Nickolay Alekseev who made capital repair of the house. Present-day reconstruction of the building was done by private investors.
