Aleksey Pesoshin at the air show “I choose the sky!”: One of the objectives of the fest is to increase interest of the youth to the aircraft industry

On 6 August, speaking to participants of the air show “I choose the sky” held in Kazan with participation of the Managing Director of the Tupolev Company V. Korolev, Director General of the Kazan Helicoter Plant V. Ginzburg and the Acting Rector of the Kazan Aircraft University T. Alibayev, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin welcomed everyone on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Government of the republic.

He reminded that holding this fest for aircraft industry workers has become a good tradition and this year the Tupolev Company celebrates its 100th birthday, the Kazan Aircraft Plant -  95th anniversary and the Kazan Aircraft University – 90th birthday.

“Tatarstan is one of the leading regions of the country systemically solving issues of supporting and developing the real sector of economy, including the aircraft industry. Preservation of the domestic aviation is one of the most important priorities for Tatarstan and Russia,” the Prime Minister stated.

He said that one of the main objectives of the holiday is to increase interest of the growing generation to the aircraft industry and to do this, today the largest enterprises of the republic have organized professional consultations at their stands to get young people acquainted with various jobs.

This year the fest is also combined with the action of Your choice is the Contract Military Service in the Russian Army organized by the Kazan Higher Armor School.

Aleksey Pesoshin thanked the fest organizers for the work done and handed in Tatarstan awards to outstanding employees of the branch. 

Participants of the holiday also watched air show of commercial and military planes and helicopters, sky divers and visited the expositions of the aviation technique.

In the evening spectators watched the show by the Strizhy (Swifts) pilot group.
