On 31 July during his working trip to Nurlat region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected harvest campaign and visited an equestrian centre and a new city park.
In the field of the Nurlat Sote Agricultural Company, Minnikhanov met farmers and heads of rural settlements, where the Head of the region Almaz Akhmetshin reported him that the harvest began last week and as of today the yield made nearly 10 thousand tonnes (barley and winter wheat). The total area to be threshed is 40 thousand hectares and 100 agricultural machines will be used in the campaign, Akhmetshin said.
He informed that the region started preparing 15 thousand hectares to be sowed with winter crops and all seeds and fertilizers have been provided in the demanded amount. Telling about small farms, Akhmetshin said that there are 12 100 small farms in the region and 12 new mini-farms are under construction in the current year.
“It is important for us to maintain and increase livestock and also catch up in the amount of produced milk as it is a stable source of revenues for rural residents. We need various incentives”, Minnikhanov said and asked to attract investors to the agribusiness more actively, develop processing industries and provide forage stock.
Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov, who accompanied Rustam Minnikhanov in the trip, informed that Nurlat region ranks 27 in the agricultural efficiency ranking but farmers are planning to improve the situation.
The Head of the region expressed his special gratitude to Tatarstan President for supporting the water supply system for the town of Nurlat by the federal project of Clear Water.
“Nurlat region is among the leaders in the republic. You have great possibilities and you should use them properly”, Minnikhanov concluded.
Later the same day Rustam Minnikhanov spoke to combine harvester drivers, looked round the exhibition of Nurlat agricultural producers, and visited the equestrian center and a new landscape park Kondurcha.
