Rustam Minnikhanov has handed in diplomas to graduates of the Kazan Army Armor School

On 29 July Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 89th graduation ceremony of the Kazan Army Armor School, which trains military officers for tank forces management for the Russian Army. 

Upon his arrival to the School Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Acting Commander of the Central Military District Rustam Minnekayev, Head of the Kazan Armor School Kirill Kulakov and other honorary guests laid flowers to the memorial of heroes – members of tanks crews who graduated from the school. 

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, where 111 young lieutenants were awarded diplomas, Tatarstan President stressed that today the armed Forces are acquiring a decent galaxy of defenders of the Motherland. “Your task is to continue legendary traditions of valor, unity and patriotism. Today’s officers - heirs to the generation of victors, grand and grand-grandchildren of Heroes of the WWII –are fighting against international terrorists in Syria, defend Donbass from Neo-Nazis and are fighting for peace and security of our people and the right of Russia on sovereign development. We are proud of our graduates who act courageously and professionally during the special military operation”, he said. 

Tatarstan President also underlined that the most important task for the commanders is work with the military personnel, saying: “Swabs hold you accountable for lives of your subordinates. Take care of your soldiers”.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov said:” It is you who will be responsible for not giving our enemies possibility to doubt the might of our Armed Forces and their determination to fight for the interests of the country in any place in the world. Honesty, courage and brevity have always been a distinguishing feature of officers from Kazan. Do not let your elder friends down and do not put to shame decent traditions of your school!”

After the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov met young trainees of the children’s camp “Aurora – junior commandos” established for children of military veterans and those who died when fulfilling their military duties and operating under the patronage of Tatarstan President.

Later the same day, Minnikhanov took part in an opening ceremony of the school museum of History and Military Traditions of the Central Military district which exhibits munitions, outfit, arms and personal belongings of the military before the (October) revolution, in the Soviet time and the modern military equipment.
