A number of innovative projects were presented at the Tatneftekhiminvest Holding Board meeting held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic on 26 July.
Thus the head of the Research and Education Pharmaceutical Center of the Kazan Federal University Yuriy Shtyrlin proposed to organize an import replacing production of such semi products as chlorine and acetic oxide, acetic acid, which are used in food industry, machine-building, construction and oil industries and nuclear power engineering. He also proposed to set up interaction with oil and gas enterprises while the Kazan Federal University and other higher educational institutions can provide scientific and technical support.
Giving his comments, Minnikhanov said: “We should work via federal headquarters to save our producers from being hurt. It is possible to get federal support, but you need to justify and present a good project”.
The head of the research lab in Promising hydrocarbon nanomaterials of the Kazan Federal University Ayrat Dimiyev reported that the lab is carrying research of hydrocarbon materials and developing polymer composites to be used in electronics, hydrogen fuel cells and microelement fertilizers.

The Chief technologist of the AlNEKO Company Ilmir Salakhov informed the participants of the meeting that by 2024 Tatarstan can launch the first in Russia production of xanthan gum which is used in oil production, food and cosmetics industries and that is currently fully imported creating risks for industry.
Tatarstan President gave an errand to the Tatneftekhiminvest Holding and regional Ministry of Agriculture to join the project and proposed to develop an industrial prototype of the device.
Director General of the United Catalyst Technologies Company from Moscow Boris Malyshkin told the meeting that a number of domestic productions – such as production of cars, packaging materials, polymers and medical goods - are on the brink of freezing because of the sanctions imposed on supply of catalysts and chemical reagents. He said that the UCT is planning to establish a center of catalysts competencies and is ready to meet the demand of Russia in catalysts and carriers and to complete projects in fuel and energy sector started with foreign licensors (Linde, Lummus, Technip and others).
Rutam Minnikhnov said: “Catalysts are the weak spot and if do not do anything we will have more trouble. It is necessary to find a form for the state support of this project”.
The operational director of the Group-IB Company from Innopolis Yaroslav Kargalev presented new adaptive solutions for protection from cyber threats and providing IT security of enterprises.
Director in sales and business development of the FESCO Integrated Transport Company Aleksey Kravchenko told participants of the meeting that the company is going to launch the container shuttles between Tatarstan, Vladivostok and Shanghai in September this year. The FESCO, the predecessor of which is the Voluntarily Fleet Agency established in 1880, also proposes export intermodal shipping to Turkey as it has its own fleet and car park in addition to a broad chain of agents in Turkey. Rustam Minnikhanov proposed to consider all issues of transportation of agricultural products and work out to the last detail all logistics schemes.
