Deputy Minister of Health Care of Tatarstan Farida Yarkaeva informed today at briefing in RT Cabinet that in 2008 Tatarstan received medicines for 1, 55 billion RUR to provide citizens that have benefits. Last year the sum was 1, 17 billion RUR.

Briefing was devoted to additional medicine supply of citizens who have benefits.

Upon the whole there’re 380 000 people in republic which use federal benefits (more than 80 % are disabled people).
The number of people which refer to one of 7 illness groups (oncohematological illnesses, illnesses after tissue transplantation, hemophilia and others) is 2, 2 000 people.
Farida Yarkaeva informed that 40 % of total sum was spent for these citizens. The participants of briefing told that since July, 1, 2008 the personal norm of provision of necessary medicine increased from 423 to 426 RUR.

When citizens refuse from social service one-time payments also increased from 557 to 567 RUR per month (including payments for additional free medical help that increased from 495 to 504 RUR).

The participants of briefing addressed to citizens who decided to refuse from social package in favor of money payments (refusal applications for next year are being accepted in territorial branches of RF Pension Fund in Tatarstan till October, 1 of current year). According to specialists assessments many people who refuse from social package may need quite expensive medicine. In case he or she writes down refusal applications they will have to provide themselves on their own.

According to the words of Executive Deputy Head of Pension Fund branch of Russian Federation in Tatarstan Elena Polyakova, there’re examples when citizens that refused from social package take their applications back. In 2008 479 people changed their mind.

Deputy Minister of Labour, Employment and Social protection in Tatarstan Nataliya Butaeva informed that citizens that have income lower than living wage may pretend for social help. In republic 10 % of pensioners get pension lower than living wage.
