Rustam Minnikhanov: “We want to present our country to the whole world during Universiade”

On July 3 during his visit to a newly opened Main Media Center Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out an important role of media agencies in holding the World Summer Universiade.
Located on two floors of the western stands at Kazan Arena Stadium, Main Media Center is one of Universiade major objects. The Center will be functioning 24 hours a day. Press conferences with event managers and main participants of the Games, Universiade ambassadors will be held there every day.
The Media Center is divided in two functional zones - Main Press Center and International Broadcasting Centre. Briefings and press conferences with participation of the Ogranising Committee, FISU officials, VIP guests, Universiade winners will be held in a press conference hall. There are two interview rooms, rooms for FISU press office employees, press offices of officials, rooms for Universiade Media Department, translators and interpreters in Main Press Center.
The International Broadcasting Centre is meant for radio and TV broadcasting of programmes and interviews connected with the Games, TV signal reception and processing, and its satellite transmission to 100 countries all over the world.
900 people will be involved in work of ANO “Sport broadcasting” during the Games. Such worldwide broadcasting will be organised in Russia for the first time. The equipment will also be used during Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
Besides Main Press Center, 30 other centers will be functioning at sports venues, in Universiade Park, and International Information Centre.
After a short excursion around Media Center, Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Oleg Dobrodeev and Head of ANO “Sport Broadcasting” Vasily Kiknadze answered journalists’ questions.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Kazan Arena stadium well fits into the city image. He added that Kazan had obtained wide experience during preparation for Universiade. He also asked journalists to tell more about Kazan, Tatarstan and Russia during their work at the event.
Vasily Kiknadze, in his turn, told that a state-of-the-art television complex with 12 mobile television units, central equipment room and mini office was purchased especially for Universiade and Olympic Games in Sochi.
