On 12 July at his meeting with the Chairman of the State Administration Council of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing, who is also the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services of the country and who came on a private visit to Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “ I am glad to welcome you in Tatarstan once again. I remember with pleasure my visit to Myanmar in April this year. It was very interesting to come to your wonderful country, to see how it is developing and to feel spirit and culture of people of Myanmar”.
He expressed his gratitude to the Myanmar Prime Minister for attention given to development of cooperation with Tatarstan, by saying: “Myanmar is a reliable partner of the Russian Federation in Asia-Pacific region and at the international arena. Ties between our countries have long history as next year we will celebrate 75th anniversary of establishment of Russia-Myanmar diplomatic relations”.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan attaches great attention to strengthening partnership relations with Myanmar by reciprocal business visits and broadening contacts of the leading Tatarstan enterprises. However, he added, it is necessary to solve a number of issues including those of logistics.
“We are open and ready for further development of our relations and there are many spheres where we can establish mutually beneficial contacts”, he concluded.
In his turn Min Aung Hlaing highly appreciated prospects of cooperation between Tatarstan and Myanmar and said: “I think all our meetings and negotiations are really very fruitful and give positive outcomes in our work”.
Myanmar Prime Minister marked active development of Tatarstan and large manufacturing facilities in machine-building, petrochemicals and agribusiness concentrated in the republic and said: “We are interested in further development of our relations. We should use everything possible for this”.
