Rustam Minnikhanov: It is necessary to tighten control on water bodies of the republic and strengthen fire safety measures

On July 11, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that hot weather in the republic led to an increase in accidents on the water and an aggravation of the fire situation.

Minnikhanov emphasized that 8 people, including 4 children, died in the water bodies of the republic during the week and 25 people, including 7 children, died since the beginning of the year. “In this regard, the heads of municipalities together with the departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations should take control of recreation places of citizens on water bodies, especially unorganized swimming areas. It is also necessary to strengthen preventive work with the population in order to prevent accidents on the water», Tatarstan President addressed the participants of the meeting. He also instructed to strengthen the control of fire safety measures.

Tatarstan President gave an errand to hold a separate meeting with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and representatives of municipalities of the republic.
