Rustam Minnikhanov: It is important to continue work on strengthening herd immunity against Covid-19

On July 11, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov urged to continue work on strengthening herd immunity against Covid-19.

Tatarstan President noted that over the past week the incidence of Covid-19 in the republic has decreased by 9 percent. Since the stable epidemiology, it was decided to suspend all restrictions imposed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan № 208 of 19 March 2020.

At the same time, autumn will come in two months and an unfavorable epidemiological period will come with it. “In order to prevent an aggravation of the pandemic, it is necessary to intensify work on the vaccination of citizens. We see what is happening in Turkey, Italy, and other places of concentration of tourists - the situation there is not moving towards stabilization, but opposite. Therefore, the issue of vaccination and immunity of citizens was and remains relevant,” Tatarstan President emphasized.
