Rustam Minnikhanov meets the leader of the Communist Party of Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennadiy Zyaganov

On 9 July at their meeting in the Government house of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minniukhanov and the Chairman of the KPRF Central Committee Gennadiy Zyaganov, who is the head of the KPRF fraction in the Russian State Duma, discussed issues of social and economic development of the republic, interaction with the Tatarstan branch of KPRF, including preservation of the Soviet heritage, and a number of other important topics.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov underlined that Tatarstan treats carefully the historical and cultural heritage. Thus the house-museum of Vladimir Lenin in Kazan, the cultural recreation center after Lenin, exposition in Lenino-Kokushkino and the monument to V. Lenin in the center of Kazan underwent restoration and refurbishment.

Gennadiy Zyaganov expressed his gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov for the attention given to issues of preservation the history and handed him in a commemorative medal “In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of establishment of the USSR”.

Gennadiy Zyaganov has come on a two-day trip to Tatarstan to visit Kazan Federal University, the house-museum of Vladimir Lenin and to take part in the Chuvash cultural fest Uyav in Alkeyevo region of the republic.
