On 4 July at his meeting with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, the Chief Counselor of the Turkish President Hasan Büyükdede on the sidelines of the International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom-2022 in Yekaterinburg, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We attach great importance to the development of Tatarstan-Turkey trade, economic and investments cooperation aimed at strengthening relations between Russian and Turkey.”
He said that Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan and according to the results of 2021 the trade turnover between the republics made 563.7m US dollars, which was by 55.8 per cent more than in 2020. In the first three months of 2022 the trade turnover reached 142.7m US dollars, he added.
Rustam Minnikhanov marked the high level of cooperation of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey, saying: “For us it is a special ministry and its head- our friend Mister Varank always supports us. We have not just trade and economic but brotherly relations. And I am deeply grateful to the administration of Turkey for providing maximum support for developing our contacts. We are grateful to Turkish investors for having trusted us and working successfully in our republic”.
In his reply, Hasan Büyükdede said: “Thank you for meeting in person. Tatartan is a very important industrial region and such meetings will facilitate the growth of investments into your republic”.
At the meeting, Tatarstan President drew special attention to work of the Turkish Ambassador in the settlement of the issues related to the Gemont Company. “The most important for us is to fulfill all our liabilities to people as it is very important for us not to hurt them. Currently this issue is being solved”, Minnikhnaov said.
In his turn, Turkish Deputy Minister stated that it was personal interference of the Tatarstan President that helped to speed up solution of this matter.
